Drop - “The MixTape Heavyweight” From the streets of Dallas, TX, DJ Drop is defying industry  expectations and creating a bona fide musical and cultural movement. DJ Drop first began in the music industry back in the late 90’s where he DJ'd at parties and clubs in Dallas, Texas. His DJ'ing ventures enabled him to DJ at some of the more popular clubs in Dallas and later becoming a DJ for the Dirty SouthBlock Party, 89.3 FM, and every Saturday night from 10-12pm. In a relatively short time, DJ Drop rose through the ranks of the Texas DJ world. He was recently named a "Best Street DJ" by Dirty South Awards. He has been featured in the Ozone Magazine, Rolling Out, The Come Up, and Urban South. Drop's mixtapes became so talked about that major artist seeked to appear on his mixtapes. Too Short, Boyz-n-da-Hood, Ray Cash, Ying Yang Twins, Killer Mike, and Nitro have all collaborated on DJ Drop’s Mixtape CD's. Not to mention over 30 artists from the Dallas/Ft. Worth area has had their share of exposure by way of collaborations on a DJ Drop mixtape. DJ Drop’s nickname is branded in the streets as “The Mixtape Heavyweight”. “I don’t just play exclusives - I collab with the artist to make them.” When asked what makes his mixtape’s different from other DJ’s. “I continue to up the bar when it comes to the mixtape game.” He enjoys a challenge and bringing something different and original to the music.
